Stereotypical Big Bang pairings

You know these posts floating around on Tumblr that give you a summary of the main Big Bang pairings? Like this. Usually it goes like, GDYB are bros for life, TODAE is the ultimate friendship, GRI is a rainbow of cuteness, TOPRI is amusing, and GTOP consists of angst angst angst and also sex.

I’m not bothered by the idea behind these post of whatever because obviously it’s all done in good fun, but I am kind of annoyed that this seems to be the general opinion of gtop? You know, that it’s mainly a ship that is about angst and sex and angst, and oh, sex?

If that is part of how you see the ship, fine. (Even if it’s one hundred percent how you perceive the ship: fine, because clearly everyone should interpret it their own way.)

It’s just that I can’t find myself at all in the description of gtop as a ship that “shows their love through rough, angst, push the partner against the wall sex.” Like, it actually feels like we’re talking about two completely different ships here.

Not that the element above is completely absent, but I see gtop mostly as good friends who hang out and make music and goof around and hook up and occasionally have a serious talk; and if I had to classify it as a fic it’d be gen with sometimes fluff, very sometimes angst and not so sometimes smut.
